Yes, the employee can take over the bike.

When the transfer contract expires, employees receive a purchase offer for their Dienstrad. If the employee accepts this purchase offer, the bike will be sold to the employee. The taxation of any monetary benefit resulting from the takeover price and the residual value determined by the tax authorities is carried out by Deutsche Dienstrad for you, within the framework of §37b EStG.
